{"id":16439,"date":"2021-03-23T15:46:35","date_gmt":"2021-03-23T19:46:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/?p=16439"},"modified":"2021-03-23T15:46:35","modified_gmt":"2021-03-23T19:46:35","slug":"basement-arts-slut-premiere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/2021\/03\/23\/basement-arts-slut-premiere\/","title":{"rendered":"Basement Arts SLUT Premiere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>on March 20th the premiere of SLUT streamed through the Basement Arts website.\u00a0<span class=\"color_23\">Slut \u200bis an all-female written, produced, directed, and performed play about how our society and culture allows sexual violence to exist and ultimately thrive. Just this past month women have come forward and told their story of sexual assault and unfair power dynamics against one of the most popular Youtube stars of our generation. T<\/span><span class=\"color_23\">he scenes depicted in the play are all based on true events and therefore may be a trigger to some.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"color_23\">The play originally written by\u00a0Kate Cappiello has been further adapted into a Netflix series called Grand Army. The play follows Joey del Marco, a sixteen-year-old girl who is sexually assaulted by her three friends one Friday night.
