An alluring glow<\/p>\n

Inviting eyes to<\/p>\n

Dip<\/p>\n

and Dive<\/p>\n

Across the hills<\/p>\n

And into the trenches<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Its beauty is<\/p>\n

Undeniable<\/p>\n

But you can’t shake<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The twinge in your chest<\/p>\n

A stab at your tissue<\/p>\n

Inside your head<\/p>\n

It nags<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A<\/p>\n

Disturbing<\/p>\n

Disruption<\/p>\n

Amidst the serenity<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The possibility<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The hills<\/p>\n

Vacillating<\/p>\n

The trees<\/p>\n

Snapping<\/p>\n

The sky<\/p>\n

Darkening<\/p>\n

The rocks<\/p>\n

Clamoring<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The chirping of birds<\/p>\n

Screeching<\/p>\n

The rushing of water<\/p>\n

Pounding<\/p>\n

The movement of clouds<\/p>\n

Hastening<\/p>\n

The whistling of grass<\/p>\n

Shrilling<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sending the mind<\/p>\n

Into a frenzy of static<\/p>\n

Quickening in pace<\/p>\n

You feel it.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The light fades<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In its place<\/p>\n

Are gloomy clouds<\/p>\n

Rapturous storms<\/p>\n

An unbearable inundation<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A pond fills the sink<\/p>\n

Entering through the tap<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Spilling onto the checkered tile<\/p>\n

The countertops<\/p>\n

And dull appliances<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The rivers flow<\/p>\n

With unending power<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Through the opened window<\/p>\n

The cracks in the walls<\/p>\n

The age-worn door<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Oceans form inside your skull<\/p>\n

Waterfalls drain your eyes<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Taking with it the innocence you held<\/p>\n

Leaving hollowness behind<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wracked with exhaustion<\/p>\n

All dries up<\/p>\n

The sun burns flesh<\/p>\n

The light lay strangely now<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You were used to the ponds<\/p>\n

The rivers<\/p>\n

The oceans<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Only for them to leave you<\/p>\n

A battered husk<\/p>\n
