FEVER DREAM ON THE CORNER OF N. STATE<\/span><\/p>\n

I was once approached by a grizzled crone, indefinitely stoned. Stoned<\/span><\/p>\n

myself, I couldn\u2019t help but welcome the gnarled lump of a man. Man<\/span><\/p>\n

we were both toasted. Toasted<\/span><\/p>\n

in the quiet of that stagnant August night, he delivered a sermon. Sermon<\/span><\/p>\n

for the damned, perhaps. Perhaps\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I looked the part to listen. \u201cListen\u201d,<\/span><\/p>\n

he croaked: \u201cYou can never imagine a new face. Face<\/span><\/p>\n

the facts, kid\u201d. Kid<\/span><\/p>\n

you not, I was so stoned I dreamt the nomadic soul before me was God. God<\/span><\/p>\n

himself had returned to visit me on that still evening. Evening\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

out my eyes, I shook God\u2019s hand, and gave him my only dollar as an offering. Offering<\/span><\/p>\n

his thanks, God and I parted ways, never to cross again. Again,<\/span><\/p>\n

I was more baked than a twice-baked potato casserole from hell. Hell,<\/span><\/p>\n

I reckon I really did meet god in some form. Form\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

your own image of God, but good luck trying. Trying<\/span><\/p>\n
