I have a headache<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I treat it with two ibuprofen pills<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And drink them down with bean broth from the garden back home<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mixed with tattered bits of veggie bacon<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That I took back here in a Tupperware container<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ones with light blue lids that pop when you press them on<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Never thought that would remind me of home<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But still makes me smile<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And all my thinking of silver hands and standing stones<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And jumping with banshees to avoid the last stair of the fire exit<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That only goes down and not up for some reason<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lets me get out of that feeling of my face being wrong<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The hair glued to the scalp<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the air feeling too still <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I don\u2019t mind the mosquitoes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Putting a bump on each of my right fingers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because I get to wander and look at mushrooms and cobwebs<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And send pictures and recorded rivers to Mom and Dad<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Smiling at the texts they send back<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because I like to share the earth in photos<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And at night, when I don\u2019t need to write about headstones<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(One of the few times staying up \u2018til 1 AM feels good)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ll spend them watching Bella Lugosi and listening to jellyfish lofi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But this time, I don\u2019t laugh alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Words flowing between like a two-stream-at-least river<\/p>\n\n\n\n
