To remind myself of spring<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Out of the world feeling like<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is made of a single room<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lights inside and out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Blurred in the growing fog<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the cold reaching out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hollow roots burrowing into me<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A bouquet of wilted amaryllis<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Petals I give to myself while<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A new bloom emerges from the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bulb wrapped in wax wrapped in<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pollen coating the windowsill<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And with enough homemade rain<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spread across the weeks<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leaves will keep sprouting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wrapping round the ceramic faces<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That cradle their earth<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And reaching for glass-guarded sunlight<\/p>\n\n\n\n
