\u201cTime cast a spell on you, but you won’t forget me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s Valentine\u2019s Day, so for my blog today I\u2019ve chosen a love song (though not a positive one) that I haven\u2019t been able to get out of my head recently: \u201cSilver Springs\u201d by Fleetwood Mac. While it doesn\u2019t quite relate to anything I\u2019m experiencing in my personal life at the moment, the passion in the song always makes me want to stop what I\u2019m doing the second it comes on and sing my heart out. Whether I\u2019m on the escalator at Walgreens or in my room at home, I can feel the emotion in Stevie Nicks\u2019s voice as if her feelings were my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know I could’ve loved you, but you would not let me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though it\u2019s only mid-February, Spring Break is just around the corner. I can hardly believe that I\u2019m almost done with my senior year of college, and, slowly but surely, I\u2019m starting to see my future plans develop. Things like scheduling graduation photos with my friend group remind me that graduation is a few short months away. While I\u2019m excited for my future, I know I will miss my friends and Ann Arbor dearly. I\u2019ve been so fortunate to have found so much love so far away from home. I came to the University of Michigan not knowing anyone, and I am going to leave with a supportive community of friends and mentors who I plan to treasure for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI’ll follow you down ’til the sound of my voice will haunt you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though \u201cSilver Springs\u201d may be a sad type of love song, my Valentine\u2019s Day is filled with nothing but love and positivity for those who surround me. I\u2019m lucky enough to have friends who surprise me with thoughtful gestures and words throughout the year \u2013 Valentine\u2019s Day is just one of the many times we show our love to each other, and, for me, a time to reflect on how happy and grateful I am to be living a life that is bursting with love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGive me just a chance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My high school self would be amazed by how far I\u2019ve come and by the community I have established here. As a tour guide, I am constantly reminded of how I\u2019ve grown since senior year of high school and how much I have to be grateful for about my life at the University of Michigan (and my life in general). Ann Arbor is a special place filled with special people and a whole lot of love, and it is a privilege to be a part of it! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
