This is the break between winter and spring<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Coal and glass and shells line the rivers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carving their way through mountains of<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Budding trees and rhododendrons<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The clouds make the sun come down in rays<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And along the cliff\u2019s edge I can see<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vultures take flight alongside<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A raven finding a home on thawing branches<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its call echoing through the trees<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Part of the woods are scorched<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Singe marks at each base of bark<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And ashen earth, but beneath it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can still see deep mossy greens<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And on and on I note the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First flowers I\u2019ve seen this year<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first web I\u2019ve seen this year<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first deer I\u2019ve seen this year<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wandering past swings yet to be used<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sun sets behinds wisps of orange<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sky open, free of any light below<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I know the cold will return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before it goes away again<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But for now, I take this moment<\/p>\n\n\n\n
