As the days go on, I can see<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carpenter bees and painted ladies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fly from one pale blossom to the next<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a chorus of frogs sound in the<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Marshes I\u2019m just now beginning to<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wander through<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seeking those new paths from<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Picking a direction and wondering<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How far I can go with a friend or two<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tulip sunsets blooming from patchwork city soil<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And curated reminders of maize and blue<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I\u2019ll go through graveyards and theatres, cafes and Kerrytown<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One more arboretum trail, one more crafted carnival, one more night<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Walking the same loop, tracking constellations in those<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spaces between lamps, singing together after the stage lights go dark,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rolling dice and trying out new names<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enjoying that welcome that was always there<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the ones who gave it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trying to take it in as the clouds start to clear<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And it will hurt to miss it all<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that means there\u2019s something worth missing<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I\u2019m glad I get to celebrate it in the sun<\/p>\n\n\n\n
