In it, I explored feelings of isolation and the sense that those around me were living their lives while I succumbed to my own struggles. I wanted so badly to take hold of my life, but I felt I couldn\u2019t. This revisitation conveys a resolve to live, and serves as a reminder that nobody has things \u201cfigured out,\u201d and that that is perfectly alright.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Fog (Revisited)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from everyone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>pure silence punctures <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>thick fog<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>not by choice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not special but singular<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>beings rush by&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>defined while I am not<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>speaking where I cannot<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-pitiers do not prosper&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I transition to spite myself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a new person of different desires<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>deeper volition&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>not helpless but harboring demons<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>in the dark and daytime<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Concealment isn\u2019t comfort anymore<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am strange and suffering<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>no different from the spectators&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fog recedes&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I see now<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>the world isn\u2019t new<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>but I am in it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sep-1-768x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25755\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.75;width:426px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sep-1-768x1024.png 768w, https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sep-1-225x300.png 225w, https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sep-1.png 787w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Streetlight at U-M<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a counter to the first poem I made for the blog way back in 2021!
