{"id":2862,"date":"2012-12-03T08:48:06","date_gmt":"2012-12-03T12:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arts.umich.edu\/ink\/?p=2862"},"modified":"2012-12-05T17:21:48","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T21:21:48","slug":"my-favorite-film-accents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artsatmichigan.umich.edu\/ink\/2012\/12\/03\/my-favorite-film-accents\/","title":{"rendered":"My Favorite Film Accents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Accents are tough. \u00c2\u00a0But when executed properly they can add a depth of reality to characters that no antiquated diction ever can. \u00c2\u00a0Christian Bale in fact, makes it a point to use a different accent in all of his films.<\/p>\n<p>For this week, I&#8217;d thought I&#8217;d post a Top Five List of my favorite filmic accents. \u00c2\u00a0Some of which are based on real, identifiable accents (like Brad Pitt&#8217;s in <em>Snatch<\/em>) and some are just whatever the actor felt like doing (like Martin Short in <em>Father of the Bride<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Sarah&#8217;s Top Five Favorite Accents in Film<\/p>\n<p>1. Brad Pitt&#8217;s pikey accent in <em>Snatch<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4sohd22ax7M\">watch?v=4sohd22ax7M<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>2.
