Are you a U-M student who wants to work with the Arts Initiative? We've got two great opportunities for paid student writers and artists! And occasionally we have other positions open too- graphic designers, web designers, program assistants and more! Take a look and see if these opportunities are a good fit for you!

arts, ink. artists / writers

arts, ink. is a blog that illuminates the Michigan student experience through art. A staff of undergraduate students are paid to create and share weekly artistic content. This content could include a wide range of artforms- writing about art, comics, poetry, photo essays, sketchbook excerpts, illustrations, storytelling videos, flash fiction, interviews with artists, mini-concerts, artistic video diaries, and more! arts, ink. incorporates a wide variety of student-created arts content— all with the idea of getting readers to discover new things and think about the arts in new ways.

Bloggers we hire will receive about $24/week, and are expected to post new creative work once per week. We'd love to read your concept proposal!

Applications are collected for two annual deadlines: September 20 and January 27. Any applications submitted now will be reviewed around those deadlines.

[art]seen reviewer

[art]seen is a place to read student-written reviews of performances and exhibitions in the local arts scene, and serves as a forum for discussing them.

Writing for [art]seen gives you a way to attend great events for free, and be paid for sharing your thoughts on our online platform with the arts community. This year, selected applicants will also have opportunities to engage with exceptional mentors in the journalism and arts communities. Undergraduate students from all three U-M campuses with a strong interest in both writing and the arts are encouraged to apply!
