February 2011: Water

The votes have been tabulated for the February 2011 As I See It Photography Competition, and Wajiha Ibrahim’s photograph entitled “Water: Trivial for Some, A Luxury for Others” came in first place! We received hundreds of votes, both online and through ballots in the Unions. The finalists are shown below with information about the photographs that won. First Place: Water: Trivial for Some, A Luxury for Others by Wajiha Ibrahim, Industrial and Operations Engineering student. Taken at the School of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Lusaka, Zambia. Wajiha wins an iPod Touch, plus gift cards to The Michigan Theater, the UMMA gift shop, and Borders.

Second Place: The Splash by Christopher Koh, Engineering student. Second Place. Christopher wins gift cards to Borders, The Michigan Theater, and the UMMA gift shop.

Third Place: Tunnel Fall at the Finger Lakes by Kristin Calder, school of Art & Design. Taken in Upstate New York. Kristin wins gift cards to the Michigan Theater and Borders.
