Clay Club

About

In the Clay Club, students can come into open studio hours to work with clay. Our goal is to teach people how to work with clay comfortably and learn new techniques in ceramics. The bowls created in the class will be used in a fundraiser in which we give out bowls of soup and receive donations for the Empty Bowls organization, which helps prevent food insecurity in the area. Anyone is welcome and we will give workshops and personal help to anyone who wants it in order to learn how to throw bowls and work in a studio!

Empty Bowls

April 5th 2019
Clay Club

Empty Bowls was an event to raise awareness about food insecurity and fundraise donations to Food Gatherers, a local food rescue program. The Clay Club made ceramic bowls during the Fall 2018 semester, sold those bowls and soup at the Empty Bowls event. They also educated the audience on food insecurity to promote advocacy and awareness.
