It is our mission and obligation to promote and foster artistic freedom and philanthropic ideas in minority communities and urban environments that promote unity, writing, and creative expression. Collectively, we will constitute a voice for people coming from marginalized communities that will strive to familiarize others with the struggles of underrepresented Americans. Our fundamental purpose will follow an original 4-block commandment represented by the acronym MAAP (Minority based, Activism, Art, & Philanthropy). This constitutes our goal to strive to respectfully represent minorities through activism, art, and philanthropy. MAAP is a guide for U.W.S. and will play a key role in our fundamental decision-making as an organization. At U.W.S. we will provide a safe and familiar environment for all P.O.C, where each member can hone their skills and participate in movements or shows meant to give back to our communities through entertainment and any aid we find ourselves capable of.
