The Michigan Documentary Club meets once a week to to discuss documentary films and explore the many different sub-genres within documentary film. Moreover, the club is interested in exploring topics that are pertinent for the questions and problems we face today. The films topics will touch upon issues of race, economics, politics, history, technology. Through discussion, the club aims to create understanding between people of differing viewpoints, and create a positive environment that encourages intellectual stimulation and risk-taking.The club also has committees that will produce a short documentary film of their own through collaborative work. One proposed event is a screening of this film. Other events include group trips to various documentary screenings in Ann Arbor.
