Ready Set Start is a volunteer organization that allows students to share their creative abilities with communities that would not otherwise have access to the arts. We lead workshops in a variety of areas (including visual arts, music, dance, and creative writing) to introduce these communities to the empowerment the arts can provide. Students from a variety of backgrounds can decide if they would like to lead workshops in various community centers for children in low-income housing or in a hospital setting. Members will also help fundraise so we can provide supplies to these communities. Ready Set Start also challenges the idea that only people who have received extensive training can create valuable works of art. We believe that any person as the potential to express themselves creatively. We encourage people who are passionate about the arts, even if they do not have a developed artistic skill, to join the organization as a support volunteer.
