Pakistani Student Association

About

The Pakistani Student Association (PSA) is a student-run organization at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor that works to create a home away from home for Pakistani students in Ann Arbor, and helps promote Pakistani culture within the Michigan community.Keeping its vision in mind, PSA holds numerous events throughout the academic year. Some of our staple events are cricket watch parties, Piston's game nights, mentorship/study tables, and our capstone cultural event, Michigan Mehndi. PSA also plays a role in the Center for South Asian Studies' Pakistan Conference, where guest speakers with expertise on Pakistani society, politics, and political economy from leading research universities around the country are invited to present and engage in discussion on the pertinent issues facing Pakistan today. We encourage all those interested in learning about Pakistan, participating in a cultural event, or settling in and getting comfortable on campus to become a member of our community. We are sure you will enjoy our company. Go Blue and Pakistan Zindabad!

Michigan Mehndi

February 16th 2024
Ali Hasan Shahab, Pakistani Student Association

The Michigan Mehndi was a grand celebration of Pakistani wedding customs. From the music, lights, and dance performances, our goal was to mirror the energy of a typical "Mehndi" ceremony. The focal point of this event was dedicated to Bollywood, Traditional Pakistani, and Bhangra dances. We wanted to showcase a large performance to our community and promote this form of art.
