Mentality Magazine is a mental health magazine on campus dedicated to openly discussing and prioritizing mental health, with a focus on written content creation and visual design. Their mission is to educate the Michigan community about mental health, share stories of fellow Wolverines, and report on related campus news. This grant funded the creating, printing, and distribution of the edition, giving anyone and everyone the chance to express themselves in writing through prose, poetry, or another form, as well as visually by creating a design that matches their piece. Mentality Magazine does not charge for their magazines in order to spread the word about the importance of mental health as far and as wide as possible.
Mentality Magazine Fall Semester Edition

Paul Silaghi, Mentality Magazine
We requested the partial funding of our Fall 2023 magazine print edition. This semester, we hope to once again create, print, and distribute an edition of our magazine, giving anyone and everyone the chance to express themselves in writing through prose, poetry, or another form, as well as visually by creating a design that matches their piece. We do not charge for our magazines in order to spread the word about the importance of mental health as far as possible. At the end of the semester, we set up a table in Mason Hall and distribute magazines to passing students, also placing them on newsstands and racks at various campus locations to reach as broad and diverse an audience as we can.

Mentality Magazine
Mentality Magazine is the first magazine at the University of Michigan dedicated solely to mental health. Each issue is approximately 40 pages, full color, and have content centered on a specific theme related to a certain aspect of mental health. This semester the theme is Gender Identity and Sexuality. The content of our magazine includes personal stories, inspirational pieces, artwork, photo features, and spotlights on other student organizations related to this topic in the context of mental health. They aimed to print around 500 copies of each issue, which were then circulated for free around campus. Their hope is to continue to spark open discussions about mental health.
