Xhaska – the Split Between Guildies and DnD

This is yet another Xhaska Nayaraq, or Taya Quispe post.

When I first started dnd, my default way of making characters was to transplant an original character of mine into the dnd system. I have since gotten more creative, and am now implementing new designs to further separate my dnd worlds and my original world (Guildies).

For the DnD world of Misfactors, I transplanted my character Taya into it and renamed her Xhaska. Now, I am looking for ways to make Xhaska more of her own person than ‘Taya, but a Lore Bard’. My main idea: make her more feral. Xhaska has fallen harder than Taya ever has (for now). She is desperate and is escaping several mob ties. However, she is still an intellectual and older than Taya. The first picture were design concepts for both done earlier in the year. Here are her new design concepts:

Xhaska’s hair is wilder, and she is angrier, more emotional, and more willing to bite people than Taya. Assume Xhaska kept the facemask I gave her from the first image. I think her coat and shoes are the only things that stayed the same from the first picture.

J. Shen or "Micey" is a Junior at Umich. She loves character design and telling stories and dabbles in making her own comics. Sketchbook Smashing is an attempt to chronicle her process in designing characters. From first concepts, hairstyle and outfit changes, or even complete shifts in design. She also hopes to map out how her own art style changes throughout the year. Her website is https://wallmouseart.weebly.com Her art Tumblr is https://wallmouse.tumblr.com
